Starting Tomorrow, Jakarta Provincial Government Will Allow Schools to Apply Distance Learning

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — The Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) allows schools to implement distance learning (PJJ) from Monday (1/9/2025). The policy is stated in the Education Office Notification Letter No. 8660/PK.00.00 issued on Saturday (30/8/2025).

In the notification letter, Jakarta Provincial Education Department Head Nahdiana said that all education units are required to continue the learning process. However, the education unit could do the PJJ system from tomorrow.

“For educational units that are located close to the protest site or have restricted access or there are requests from parents/guardians of pupils, then educational units are allowed to carry out learning from home,” he said in a notice letter cited by Republika, Sunday (31/8/2025).

He added that for educational units that are not close to the protest site or are not restricted in access, can choose the implementation of a good learning process that is implemented directly in the educational unit.

Nevertheless, educational units are also allowed to conduct learning conducted from home after intensive communication with parents/guardians of pupils through the school committee.

Nahdiana also asked the head of the education unit to guide and monitor the implementation of the learning process. The educational unit is also asked to provide alternatives in case of obstacles in the implementation of learning by coordinating with the tribes of the educational services and/or the educational services.

” This notification will be implemented from Monday, September 1, 2025 until the next notification,” he said.
